This Supermoon is extra special, as this November 14/15 Full Moon hasn’t come this close to Earth since January 26, 1948 and won’t come this close again until the Full Moon of November 25, 2034. The moon orbits our planet in an oval shape so sometimes it comes closer to us than at other times. The moon is the primary night light of the skies, illuminating the land brightly on the nights of the full moon and receding again to the mystery of complete darkness at the new moon. This ancient enigma of constant regular appearance, growth, and subsequent disappearance is a visible symbol of life, death, and then rebirth with the appearance of the new moon. Ancient peoples measured time by the regular cycle of the moon rather than the cycle of the sun. Even the solstices and equinoxes were originally celebrated on the closest full or new moon. But how is the full moon correlated with the feminine self? What many women weren't told when they were young daughters, was that we have a divine soul connection with the feminine archetype. Without diving too deep into ancient mythology, one of the main symbols that embodied the feminine soul, was the moon and how its different phases affected us in a spiritual and emotional way. The moon has a 28 day cycle, the same as menstruation cycles. The English word for month (derived from Anglo-Saxon monath, akin to mona, “moon”) and for menses (from the Latin mensis, “month”) are related to ancient words for moon because of their close association with a woman's menstrual cycle. And why is it that we can't sleep, or tend to feel so emotionally charged during a full moon? Essentially, what the full moon does is act as a strong gravitational magnet that affects the oceans tides. When the moon is full or new, the gravitational pull of the moon and sun are combined, causing spring tides. At these times, the high tides are very high and the low tides are very low. An our bodies are comprised of at least 60% water! As a mirror that reflects the light of the sun, the moon represents the shadow side of the sun’s light. The Moon reflects the mystery and fear within us. It reflects to us all what we cannot see inside ourselves because we cannot look directly at the brilliant sun. Womens' bodies are finely tuned, following each phase of the moon. Let us become aware of this phenomenon by connecting ourselves to something that is already truly within us, and start to remember our true essence. Let's make the world beautiful, one moon phase at a time! Supermoon session tonight: I am going to work on the following: - to embrace our feminine and true selves, as solidly as the fullmoon! - to radiate our true selves, illuminating our own and others' lives, and the earth with love and our true essence - & of course anything else that might come up during this Supermoon session! I will share this with the participants via an email. Ps. as the Feminine is contained (but so often suppressed) within all of us, men are more than welcome to join in this session!
