How much love is in the world nowadays, in your community or family? What can we do to increase it? Maybe by taking care of the most important kind of love first.. which can then radiate outwards into our surroundings.
self-love ˈˌself ˈləv/ noun Definition: regard for one's own well-being and happiness. Self-love, which goes hand in hand with self-esteem, is an integral part of personal happiness, fulfilling relationships and achievement. The amount of self-love we have determines how we react to criticism, confrontation and rejection - taking it personally, or staying objective and valuing others’ opinions. It is also reflected in what our inner voice sounds like - critical and negative or positive and supportive. It comes into play when we make mistakes, making us feel either ashamed and embarrassed, or welcoming the chance for learning and help from others. Or when looking at yourself in the mirror: only focusing on “flaws” or look away because you dislike what you see, or looking at yourself with appreciation and love.. Lacking self-love, we also tend to reject other people’s love, because we either do not recognize it, or we feel that we are not worthy of it. The list is endless..! What causes inadequate self-love, where does it stem from? It could be caused by many factors, i.e.: trauma- emotional, physical or sexual abuse; subconscious belief systems; our society & the media; bullying and academic underachievement in school; stress and difficult life situations (like serious illness or a bereavement); negative thinking habits; the need to perform and be successful, etc. etc. Because self-esteem is usually formed in childhood, it is usually biased and inaccurate, as it is based on a child's-eye view. As we grow up we tend to take the voices of people who were significant to us with us. We may criticize ourselves in their sharp tones, and make the same comparisons with other people that they did. Our childhood experiences create a foundation for general conclusions and judgments about ourselves, which could create a negative view of the self that lies at the heart of low self-esteem. Self-love is our fuel; it’s the foundation of who we are. Everything builds on top of this foundation, and if it isn’t solid, life can feel shaky. Take part in a distant session on Self-love to help shift self-love limiting patterns. When we practice self-love, we feel empowered to push through our limiting beliefs and live a life that truly shines, with countless benefits, like: ❤ being better able to recognize and prioritize your needs, which will lead to healthier relationships. ❤ not sabotaging yourself (by doing something destructive as soon as everything is finally going great in your life!). It will help you to be more accepting of good things in life. ❤ increasing your ability to give and receive love. You only attract as much love into your life as you are able to give to yourself. ❤ increasing your love & acceptance for others, the more you love and accept yourself for who you are… which causes them to love and accept you more! A beautiful never-ending circle of love.. ❤ finding your own Happy! The more love you show yourself, the better you feel. And the better you feel, the happier you become :) The bottom line of the story: Self-love is not selfish! Self-love is about connecting to your innermost needs, celebrating the freedom of being you, and honouring who you truly are while dropping self-destructive patterns. Loving yourself is magical—it’s the most important relationship you will ever have, and one that will help you radically improve every aspect of your life. It's the biggest gift you can give to the world around you. So go on, drop the guilt, and embrace having a deep, loving relationship with YOU! To give you a boost on your journey to full-on self-love, I can offer you a distant session on this theme. I will use my intuition to feel into the core of lack of self-love (of the group, and then individually), and use one or more therapy tools to shift it into opening your heart to yourself and Embracing the whole of YOU. In this session I will be working on: - releasing outdated belief systems about your own worth and lovability - helping you accept and embrace your strengths as well as your weaknesses, the totality of Who You Are. - helping you open up to the fullness of your value and strengths - imprinting deep love and appreciation for Your own Self. Give yourself a huge hug and use affirmations like “You are the most wonderful being in my life - thank you for being here!” throughout the day. Lots of love, Jani 💜 “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.” — Buddha
